2020 GPCS Spring Symposium

UPDATE: As you are aware, COVID-19 is having a global impact and the WHO and the CDC have instituted recommendations that include social distancing and cancelling conferences and large gatherings. Safety is always GPCS’s highest priority; the GPCS executive committee has decided to postpone the spring symposium to a later date (TBD) in summer 2020. Meanwhile, we remind the GPCS members to renew the membership, if you haven’t done so. Stay safe. - GPCS Executive Committee

The Great Plains Catalysis Society (GPCS) was started in late 2017 to promote fellowship and collaborations among the chemists, chemical engineers, material scientists and other scientists in the general Great Plains region who are interested in catalysis and related fields. As an affiliate of the North American Catalysis Society (NACS), GPCS expands the reach of NACS into the area of Great Plains.

GPCS has scheduled the 2020 Spring Symposium on May 11, 2020 at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. The symposium will take place in Howe Hall (Map). A workshop on NMR for Catalysis will be offered on Sunday, May 10 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Hach Hall (Map). A preliminary program for both days can be found here.

We envision the GPCS Spring Symposium as a focal point for reporting on catalytic research in the Great Plains area. Please join us for this great opportunity to connect and network with fellow catalysis researchers and professionals. Some of our plenary lectures and keynote speakers include:
